Brazil banks calls for instant ban of credit card for gambling

The Brazilian Federation of Banks has recommended that the government expedite the impending prohibition on credit card use for gambling and betting.

The president leads the call, alerting the federal government to the growing number of people using credit cards for betting and cautioning them about the dangers of citizens accruing debt.

In order to open Brazil's federal fixed-odds sports betting and online gambling marketplace, known as Bets, the government and associated agencies are currently in the licensing phase.
