Brazil continue to push Senate on slow sports betting legislation

Despite minimal progress since the proposal reached the Senate, the Brazilian government has dedicated the past few years to developing sports betting legislation. While the sports betting regulation bill may not be approved by the end of the month, the federal government maintains a positive outlook.

During the meeting, various agenda items, especially those centered on boosting tax revenue, were deliberated. Special attention was given to the topic of sports betting. The Ministry of Finance anticipates that once the gaming market is properly regulated, the country's revenue could experience a substantial rise, potentially reaching an annual total of around $2.38 billion.
