Brazil issues order to ban casino advertisements targeting minors

A preliminary order issued by the director of the Ministry of Justice and Public Security would prohibit advertisements that contain casino bonuses.The order seeks to prohibit "any advertising of fixed-odds online gambling (bets) for children and adolescents" as well as any advertising pertaining to bonuses for casinos, "even if merely as a promotion."According to the publication, this is done to "guarantee of the safety of the vulnerable person in the consumer relationship, with special attention to the hypervulnerable such as children and adolescents," as well as to prevent and combat problem gambling and excessive debt.
