Brazil President Lula passes a sports betting measure that includes an online casino.

President Lula Inacio Da Silva signed Brazil sports betting bill into law, establishing a regulated wagering system after previous delays.

This contrasts with the 2022 failure when former President Bolsonaro declined to sign a similar bill.

The inclusion of online casino games, disputed within the government, faced opposition from the Liberal Party and some senators.

Despite this, the bill with amendments on tax and advertising, passed in the Chamber of Deputies on December 22.

It is expected that the gambling industry would generate funds that are up to $2 billion dollars for the Brazilian economy. Take also into cognizance the myriads of jobs that would be created with this law. One can say that the president of Brazil sees the economic benefits of signing this into law.
