Brazil revenue service confirms tax rate on gambling winnings

A 15% income tax rate on winnings from lotteries, internet gaming, and betting has been approved by the general secretary of Brazil's federal revenue service. Net wins exceeding approximately €500 will be subject to the rate. Winnings under this threshold—roughly equal to two average monthly salaries—will not be subject to taxation.

The same method used for state lotteries will be applied to the deduction of taxes at the source. The sum that is won over the amount wagered will be referred to as net winnings.
