Brigid Simmonds, the Chairman of the Betting and Gaming Council (BGC), has issued a statement concerning the ongoing discussions on the obligatory fee consultations that would impact gambling operators. These consultations, led by the Gambling Commission, pertain to modifications in funding for Research, Education, and Treatment (RET) programs aimed at addressing gambling-related harm. While the BGC initially suggested a compulsory levy to the Government prior to the publication of the White Paper, the focus of the levy has now been altered.
