British politician dismissed for encouraging the use of fake gambling investor

Scott Benton, a British MP, has put himself in a predicament he won't be able to talk himself out of. He was expelled by his Conservative Party as they look into allegations that he solicited money and favors from other politicians by pitching a fictitious gaming enterprise to them. The Blackpool South MP, Benton, allegedly appeared in video that purportedly depicts him negotiating contracts on behalf of investors in the gaming industry. Benton violated congressional rules, according to a private investigation by the media organization using undercover reporters. He did so by offering to give other politicians private marketing and investment information. The UK's Parliamentary Committee on Standards is currently conducting an investigation against the lawmaker, who has been in office since 2019.
