British teen arrested for alleged role in MGM Resorts hacking

This week, authorities in Walsall, England, arrested a 17-year-old boy who was involved in the hacking of MGM Resorts International and other major corporations.

Blackmail and violating the UK Computer Misuse Act led to the arrest of the unidentified suspect on Thursday. According to authorities, he appears to have accessed computer networks illegally by using ransomware.

The teen's involvement in the well-known hacking scheme against MGM Resorts that happened in September of last year was not made clear.
