Bulgaria has finally enacted a ban on gambling advertisements following months of discussions. The president enacted the measure, which forbids gambling companies from openly advertising their goods.
Operators are not allowed to advertise their products in any media format under the new advertising regulations. Despite the contentious ban, gambling companies are still able to advertise their products on billboards that are at least 100 meters away from educational institutions. It's still legal to place advertisements on gaming hall facades. National lottery draw TV broadcasts are another notable exception to the rules.
