Bulgarian judicial system accuses Bulgarian football chief of shady lottery deals

The controversial president of the Bulgarian Football Union is under investigation for his connections to illicit lottery operators and his involvement in match-fixing. He has previously faced accusations of similar behavior.

The Prosecutor’s Office will look into the executive to determine whether the accusations are true, following a large-scale protest in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. The office states that there have been several recent media reports claiming ties between foreign black market lottery operators and the president of soccer.
