The opposition to the proposed sports betting referendum in Missouri this November is being led by Caesars Entertainment, according to recently released campaign finance data.
Caesars has given Missourians Against the Deceptive Online Gambling Amendment, a committee, $4 million. In the election on November 5, the campaign hopes to persuade voters to reject Amendment 2.
For a period of five years, retail licenses would cost $250K. $500K would be spent on mobile licenses. There would be a 10% state tax on gross sportsbook revenue after promotional deductions.
