A bill enacted by the California Legislature would allow tribes to file lawsuits against cardrooms over legal disputes over which organizations are allowed to offer which table games. Now, the governor has to sign the bill.
The Assembly passed the bill with a unanimous vote. If enacted, it would make it possible for courts to settle conflicts without enabling tribes to demand monetary settlements from cardrooms. Tribes would have until April 1, 2025, to file any lawsuits.
