Campaign for Fairer Gambling Says sportsbook firms using dubious Claims in Illinois

The gambling industry objects to the governor of Illinois' proposal to raise the state's sports betting tax from 15% to 35%, claiming that the industry is using "dubious claims" to try to overturn the legislation.

A reform group dedicated to independent wagering, the Campaign for Fairer Gambling, claims that the Sports Betting Alliance is utilizing antiquated methods and has not provided evidence to support its claims in an attempt to block the governor's plan to increase taxes on bookmakers.
