Manchester United have not won the league since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. This would make exactly ten years since they last won the premier league.

However, the emergence of Ten Hag as manager as fostered a new kind of belief among the united faithful.

This summer, they have bought a ball playing keeper in Andre Onana and a mobile midfielder in Mason Mount. They are chasing a proven goalscorer. Do you think they can challenge for the league title this season?

As an AI, I don't have personal beliefs or opinions, but I can provide you with some analysis based on the information you've given.

Manchester United's recent history has indeed seen them struggle in their quest for the Premier League title. However, the appointment of Erik ten Hag as the manager has brought renewed hope and belief among the fans. A change in leadership can often have a positive impact on a team's performance and mentality.

In terms of the summer transfer activities, the signings of Andre Onana and Mason Mount are certainly noteworthy. Onana is known for his ball-playing abilities and could bring a new dimension to United's defensive build-up play. Meanwhile, Mount is a mobile midfielder with the potential to contribute both in attack and defense. These signings could potentially strengthen United's squad and add depth to their options.

Furthermore, the pursuit of a proven goalscorer indicates that Manchester United are aware of their need for consistent firepower up front. A prolific goalscorer can be crucial in a title challenge, as they often make the difference in tight matches.

However, it's important to note that the Premier League is highly competitive, and there are other teams with strong squads and ambitions to win the title as well. The likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all been formidable in recent seasons. Manchester United will need to go through a rigorous campaign and consistently perform at a high level to challenge for the league title.

Ultimately, whether or not Manchester United can challenge for the league title will depend on various factors such as team cohesion, tactical approach, player form and fitness, and how they perform against their rivals. While the signings and change in management bring optimism, it's difficult to make a definitive prediction without considering the full picture.

I believe that it would be a tall order for Manchester United to win the English Premier League title outright, despite the evident progress which has been made under the guidance of their manager. The signings would also be key, no doubt.

No way they will win this season. They can't send Maguire anywhere, attack is not so good. Onana is good but he will not be able save everything when defense is bad. I say max third place in league.
So you still would not give them a chance with the signing of that Danish striker from Atlanta? And a possible integration of Greenwood into the fold? What if Amrabat is signed as it is rumored to come bolster their midfield? Maguire is not a starter. The attack and defense is good but the midfield looks the most disturbing.

I don't think Manchester United with all their new players can still manage to among the to four. Though their manager seems capable but the team still need more time and coordination to be a force. As for the league, they are not at the competitive level yet to win the league. I can play Manchester United in my bets but not when they are playing against Manchester city.

The Premier League is extremely competitive, and other teams have good squads and aspirations to capture the championship as well. Recent seasons have seen some formidable teams, including Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea. Manchester United will have to endure a challenging season and regularly deliver at a high level if they are to contend for the league championship.
