Can you cash stolen casino chips?

I was having a discussion with one of my friends and he said that he was broke and there is no money on him. he said he has it in the plan to steal the casino chips and sell them to the iron scrappers. I told him that it is impossible to send it but he was adamant.

Here is another question I would like to ask the members of this forum is that Can you cash stolen casino chips? I will be glad if anyone here can tell me.

The chip is just a representation of cash at the table of any games. It does not represent real money and it does not have a value in the financial market and as such, it will be a total waste to steal such thing.

It is rather pointless to steal these chips because you cannot exchange it for money yourself. Rather you are depleting someone's funds without being able to enhance your own in any shape of form, which is bemusing, to say the least
