Can you give an example of a strategic move in poker?

A strategic move in poker could be betting or raising when an opponent checks, even if you do not have the best hand at that moment. This is called a "bluff," where you bet large to make your opponents perceive that you have a strong hand, in hopes that they will fold. Even if you do not have the cards to currently win, by betting or raising you can sometimes force opponents with better hands currently to fold. This only works if done strategically and infrequently enough to maintain credibility. Bluffing is a strategic poker move that aims to win the pot based on perception and opponent psychology, rather than the cards in your hand at that exact time. Strategic players look for opportunities to make strategic bets and raises that can win them the hand, even without necessarily having the best immediate cards.
