Can you go to jail for not reporting income to ssi?

I later got to know that it is not good for someone to win jackpot on the lottery and not reporting to the authority involved. I don't actually know the penalty that comes with this but some people saying that the person might go to jail.

One of the questions I want to ask you guys is that can you go to jail for not reporting income to ssi? I'll be glad if anyone here can explain this thoroughly for me. Thanks in advance

I don't really think it's your right to report to the authority after winning a lottery, I should be the work of the company or betting industry to report the ticket to the authority and remove the necessary tax betting money from it before you get your money

You could be subject to criminal charges and other penalties.The SSA takes fraud very seriously, and they will investigate any reports of SSI recipients who are not reporting all of their income.
