Can You Still Get Government Benefits After Lottery Winnings?

Hello everyone, does anybody know if you can still keep getting government benefits like food stamps and Medicaid after you win a lottery? I'm guessing the government will find out, but I'm not sure, as I haven't won any lottery yet! What has been your experience or what do you think, can a person keep getting benefits for a while after a lottery win? Please share your knowledge to clarify this for me.

It depends on the type of government benefits you're talking about. For example, winning the lottery may disqualify you from receiving means-tested benefits, such as Supplemental Security Income or Medicaid.
