A Denver man is suing a former Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office deputy, claiming the deputy assaulted him with a taser, causing permanent blindness in his left eye. According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred in the Ameristar Casino parking garage, where the plaintiff alleges excessive force led to injuries severe enough to require his left eye to be surgically removed and replaced with a prosthetic. This legal action highlights serious concerns regarding the use of force and accountability within law enforcement, particularly in handling suspects.
