Casino supermarket retailer, will lay off employees as part of a restructuring

French supermarket chain Casino plans to cut up to 3,267 jobs as part of a restructuring plan to improve its finances.

It will focus on convenience stores and sell or close some of its hypermarkets, supermarkets, and logistics platforms.

The company is investing 1.2 billion euros to modernize its stores by 2028. It will also strengthen purchasing partnerships with Intermarché and extend them to Auchan.

It's unfortunate to hear about the significant job cuts at Casino as part of their restructuring efforts. Job losses can have a profound impact on individuals and their families, as well as the wider community.

It's interesting to see that Casino plans to focus more on convenience stores and optimize its store portfolio by selling or closing some hypermarkets and supermarkets. This strategic shift might be aimed at adapting to changing consumer preferences, especially with the growth of online shopping and convenience formats.

The investment of 1.2 billion euros to modernize stores by 2028 shows a commitment to enhancing the customer experience and staying competitive in the market. By modernizing its stores, Casino can potentially attract more customers and drive sales growth in the long run.

Additionally, strengthening purchasing partnerships with Intermarché and extending them to Auchan could bring benefits such as economies of scale, improved product offerings, and cost savings. This collaboration could help Casino stay competitive in the challenging retail landscape by leveraging the strengths of its partners.

Overall, it seems like Casino is taking significant steps to transform its business and secure its future viability in a rapidly changing retail environment.

Is pretty much normal in the industry when any company believes that they are not achieving their targets they will actually they will most try downsizing and this is what the company is actually doing at the moment as well
