Legislation allowing gambling in state-owned establishments has been approved by the Kyrgyz parliament. This new law seeks to increase tax revenues, create jobs, and draw in investment by permitting casino operations inside state-owned buildings or businesses with government ownership.
The law, which was created by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and submitted to the Cabinet of Ministers, lifts earlier limitations by allowing casinos in state-owned hotels in an effort to boost travel and international competitiveness. The construction of tourist infrastructure will be financed by the profits from these casinos.
