Cayuga Nation sues New York Gaming Commission over lottery ticket sales

For selling lottery tickets on its reservation in the state's region, the Cayuga Nation is suing the New York State Gaming Commission.

According to the Nation, only it is permitted by federal law to control how gaming is conducted on its territory. According to a complaint that was submitted on Thursday to the Northern District of New York U.S. District Court.

According to the lawsuit, unless the tribe grants the state a license to do so, it is not allowed to provide gaming on the Cayuga sovereign reservation.
