Cedar Palace casino opposition emerges in Iowa

Iowans for Common Sense, a self-described "grassroots coalition," has formed to oppose a proposed $275 million casino resort in Cedar Rapids.

The public does not want more gambling, according to Iowans for Common Sense. Recently, the group ran a 30-second television ad in which Iowans voiced their opposition to the expansion of casinos.

According to the study's findings, Iowans are adamantly against the industry's continued growth even though they strongly support casino gambling.
