The largest poker room in Europe, host of the World Series of Poker Europe, and organizer of the biggest tournaments in Europe is celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year.
King’s opened its doors on June, 26 2003. Leon Tsoukernik, an antique dealer and self-made millionaire, had a vision. His dream of establishing a first-rate casino near the German-Czech border has taken the poker world by storm, cementing Rozvadov's reputation as Europe's Las Vegas.
Regular poker on a larger scale has been played at King’s since 2006 – the first poker room was on the 1st floor of today’s “old” 5-star rooms. From 2009 poker really kicked off at King’s with the legendary €50,000 GTD King’s Premium tournaments taking place every weekend, boosting the popularity of King’s. Bigger changes in the tournament events were made in 2011 with the introduction of the €200,000 GTD German Championship of Poker Main Event at a buy-in of €1,100 and many other tournament series bringing a wide variety of poker events. In the following years, more tournament series were added, such as the PokerStars Eureka Tour, the German Poker Tour (GPT), and Deutsche Poker Tour (DPT).
