CEO of popular casino franchise resigns after Queensland commits to gambling reform

Only a few days after Queensland clamped down on gambling, the CEO of the troubled Star Entertainment Group announced his resignation.

This week, the Queensland parliament passed new laws aimed at toughening up on venues and minimizing gambling-related harm in casinos, which dealt another blow to Star Entertainment.

The CEO and the board decided that a change in leadership was in the best interests of the company, according to a statement from Star Group.
