CEO of the Gambling Commission: It is not our place to pass "moral judgment" on what gamblers spend

He claimed that the Gaming Commission wasn't necessary concerned in determining how much money people were spending, but rather how operators were encouraging safer gambling.
Our role is to permit wagering as long as it is safe, reasonable, and crime-free, not to make a ethical judgment on the amount of money is being spent on sports betting, said Rhodes. "I'm not trying to say these companies are getting all right, and I'm not saying the authority wants to see individuals in general expenses less on gambling either," he added. But we are interested in seeing how operators try to steer their clients away from actions that pose a greater risk to the licensing objectives.
As the regulator, we believe that you should make these decisions.

The amount of money staked on a particular game cannot be controlled by the gaming authority and they are not responsible for any risk measures taken by any gambler . It is the duty of the gambler to always use the risk management skill to manage his risk while gambling.

Truly it's not in the place of any gambling commission or any gambling industry to pass moral judgment on gamblers for the amount of money they can use to stake game. But that doesn't mean you guys cannot advice them to always stake responsively.

Actually, no authorities has every right to determine how much is spent on gambling. They are only concerned about the medium used by the operators to convince such players in incurring such amount of money. Casino operators are regulated on the manner they placed their advertisement such that they don't lure public into gambling.
