Cherokee Nation tribe resubmits Pope County casino application

In its attempt to award Pope County a commercial casino license later this year, the Arkansas Racing Commission received bids for a second and likely final time.

The first qualifying submission for the $405 million plans for the River Valley Casino Resort project was made public by Gulfside Casino Partnership, a Mississippi-based company, just a few days ago, according to state gaming officials.

Developers must apply individually, rather than in alliances or consortiums, according to the casino bidding guidelines. The ability to exhibit gaming experience is another requirement for bidding firms.
