Chile's Supreme court orders blocking of 23 illegal online betting sites

The Supreme Court of Chile has ordered sports betting companies to leave the country immediately. The Chilean Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that access to almost two dozen internet betting companies must be prohibited because they are operating unlawfully. According to the court, both facilitators and participants in gambling activities can face criminal charges.

The court also confirmed in the judgement that Polla Chilena is the only company authorized to undertake online gambling activities in the country.

It's good to see the authorities taking steps to regulate the gambling market for Chilean players. A fair, controlled industry is important to protect players from any risky operators. Blocking unlicensed sites makes sense if they won't follow local rules.
