China football removes 60 players and officials in corruption probe

In the aftermath of a thorough investigation into match-fixing and corruption, the Chinese Football Association has permanently barred 43 officials and players from the sport.

A Cameroonian forward who is currently playing in Saudi Arabia was among the 17 individuals who received five-year bans in addition to the 43 life bans.

Chinese soccer has a history of rampant corruption. For accepting millions of bribes, the former CFA president was given a life sentence earlier this year.
