China hands out lifetime football bans to 43 people for match-fixing

43 individuals, including three former China internationals and a South Korean player, have been permanently banned from Chinese football due to allegations of gambling and match-fixing.

Recent years have seen Beijing imprison multiple high-ranking officials and intensify its campaign against corruption in Chinese sports, particularly football.

The 43 were part of a total of 128 persons who were investigated for two years for illicit gambling and match-fixing in domestic sports.
