Churchill Downs sues Michigan gambling regulator due to TwinSpires suspension

Following the Michigan Gaming Control Board's summary suspension order for its TwinSpires brand, Churchill Downs is pursuing legal action.

Following the gambling board's recent decision to suspend TwinSpires indefinitely for failing to abide by a cease and desist letter sent in December 2024, Churchill Downs has filed a complaint seeking declaratory and injunctive relief.

Churchill Downs received a letter from the Michigan Gaming Control Board outlining TwinSpires' violations of Michigan gaming laws by providing advance deposit wagering.
