Citizens of Fiji oppose the establishment of a casino

When asked if they would support a $2 billion casino project proposed by Macau, China-based investor David Group, Fijians responded emphatically in the negative.

The executive director of the Fiji Council of Social Services was among those who denounced the action, stating that a casino was the last thing the government should open given the high cost of food that Fijians were currently facing.

The Fiji Labour Party was likewise against casino licenses in Fiji.
