Colombia parliament set to discuss tax increase on online gambling

The upper house of the Colombian Senate has officially confirmed that tax measures pertaining to online gambling will be examined in order to facilitate the government's plans to restructure the public welfare and healthcare systems of the country.

Senators will examine Colombia's present online gaming tax structure, which levies a 15% gross gambling rate on authorized operators who keep an 83% return to player on all bets. Operators with return-to-player rates higher than 83% are assessed a 17% fee.
