CONNOR BEDARD AT THE WORLD JUNIORS IS INEVITABLE

All hail the young Canadian king, who led his side to victory over a strong Slovakian team in the quarterfinals with a masterful display. HALFORD - There seemed to be only two ways that a thrilling quarterfinal at the world juniors could end: either Slovakia, outshot 2-to-1 by the Canadian hosts, would find a way to get one more puck past goalie Thomas Milic, or Connor Bedard would score for Canada. Bedard pulled through for the 4-3 triumph, much to the relief of the majority of spectators at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, leaving an indelible mark on a game he had previously used to establish many Canadian offensive records.
