The Australian terror cell's convicted leader, who conspired with his followers to attack Melbourne's Crown Casino and other locations, may soon be free.
The offender was found guilty in 2008 of plotting to attack the Crown Resorts property during the Australian Formula One Grand Prix weekend, and he received a 15-year prison sentence. His gang also intended to attack Sydney's Lucas Heights nuclear reactor and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The offender was successful in his appeal to have his citizenship restored after the Australian High Court ruled that the immigration minister's use of a law was unconstitutional. Currently scheduled for release on December 23, the defendant's detention order is about to expire.
