An empty former shoe store in Southend High Street is scheduled to undergo a makeover into a gambling establishment following the approval of plans. The current Coral establishment located in the basement of 66-68 High Street is expected to move to the previous Shoe Zone store situated at 80 High Street, as Southend Council has given its consent for the transformation from an empty shop to a betting office. Consequently, there will be no rise in the quantity of gambling establishments within the city. This development comes after the shoe retailer reopened at a different location on the high street earlier this summer, providing a wider assortment of footwear.
