The Louisiana Gaming Control Board gave The Cordish Companies majority approval on Thursday to purchase the gaming license that was formerly held by the Diamond Jacks riverboat in Bossier City.
Cordish, along with its principal executives and stakeholders, were deemed eligible for a Louisiana gaming license by the board this past week.
In order to accommodate its first gambling venture in Louisiana, Cordish intends to expand and restore the hotel, dubbed Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana, into a 550-room establishment complete with a resort pool and fitness center. Plans also include a 25,000-square-foot multipurpose event facility.
