Credit union manager sentenced for gambling away $400,000 in embezzled funds

A 30-month prison sentence has been imposed on a former credit union manager. Before starting a fire to hide her tracks, she was found guilty of embezzling $399,230 from her employer of fifteen years.

She worked for Valley 1st Community Federal Credit Union as the branch manager. Prosecutors said she was a heavy gambler as well.

The court was informed that she gambled at Pittsburgh's Hollywood Casino at the Meadows and lost four times her yearly income in the months that followed the theft.
