Crown Melbourne casino fined for allowing access to self-excluded gamblers

After government-appointed monitors found that the casino had given access to its slot machines and table games to at least 242 individuals who had previously self-excluded from the property's gaming floor, Crown Melbourne was fined US$1.34 million.

Australia is thought to have one of the most illogical gaming cultures. In the adult population, almost four out of ten gamble every week, and nearly 75% gamble at least once a year.
