A study in Denmark reveals that 2.1% of online gamblers in the past year knowingly used unlicensed websites, constituting 56% of players on such platforms.
The Danish Gambling Regulator, in collaboration with Statistics Denmark, surveyed 30,070 individuals aged 15 and above between November 2022 and January 2023.
Out of the respondents, 3.8% admitted to gambling on unlicensed sites, with 32% stating they did so for perceived better payouts.
