Delaware bill could usher competitive betting market

The goal of Delaware lawmakers is to increase the size and competitiveness of the state's online gambling market. The measure would permit the state's casinos to collaborate with numerous online partners.

Supporters claim that competition in the market would develop a contemporary market that could bring in millions of dollars in tax revenue.

Licensed sports lottery operators would need to pay $500,000 for a five-year license under the new proposal. Fees for licenses would fund the General Fund.

I'm not sure expanding gambling is such a good idea. More availability could lead to more problem gambling issues. And how much tax revenue will really come in versus social costs? They should spend money on education and treatment instead of focusing only on profits.
