Denmark Ranks 12th in Europe for Gambling Expenditure

More than half of the total spending came from online channels.
According to a new report from the Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden), Danish citizens above the age of 18 spent an average of DKK2,350 ($345) on gambling in 2022.

With an average gambling expenditure of DKK 2,350 ($345), Denmark ranked 12th in terms of gambling spending in Europe for 2022. When compared to other Nordic countries, Denmark had the lowest average spending per adult. Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland all had higher average gambling expenditures per adult. Iceland had the highest gambling consumption in the Nordic region with DKK 3,300 ($484) per capita. Looking at Europe as a whole, Ireland tops the list with an average gambling spend of just under DKK 4,000 ($587) per capita in 2022.
