Department of Interior ask Supreme Court to dismiss Florida gambling case

A lawsuit contesting the gaming compact that the Seminole Tribe of Florida reached in 2021 has been dismissed by the Supreme Court, according to a request made by the US Department of the Interior.

Wide-ranging effects will result from the Supreme Court's ruling on the Florida gaming compact, which may allow federally recognized tribes to start offering online games. However, interior attorneys argue that's not always the case because states would need to enact legislation to permit gaming to be transmitted remotely, as did the case with online sports wagering in Florida.
