On a well-known football pool website, several gambling businesses—including the publicly traded Dutch Lottery—illegally promoted. In Scorito, hundreds of thousands of individuals participated in World Cup pools and were exposed to betting on football games for weeks. According to NOS, the Gaming Authority views football pooling as games, making gambling advertisements illegal.
The gaming companies deleted their advertisements after receiving an ultimatum from the regulator.
They might later receive fines.
