My government charges taxes and get quite a bit of revenue from these gambling companies. They can then use these funds for the development of the country and the betterment of the economy

You do raise a good point. In the developing countries, corruption and mismanagement of funds is rife and rampant, so the revenue obtained from casinos and the taxes charged on winnings are not used for the right purposes
