Discussions begin in Maryland senate over online casino gaming

This year, national iGaming advocates are primarily focused on Maryland. In light of this, the state senator has declared that his iGaming bill, which would legalize online casino gaming and include multistate poker, will be introduced in 2024.

During this month's House Ways & Means Committee hearing, matters swiftly came up for discussion. The committee was briefed on an online casino study that was contracted by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission. The Innovation Group's analysis suggested that if iGaming is permitted, Maryland's revenue from land-based casinos might drop by 10% a year.
