Do casinos ever wrongly accuse people of cheating?

Of course casinos slap cheating charges on innocent people - how else can they avoid paying out huge winnings?!

Look, those places are paranoid fortresses staffed by suspicious eyes everywhere looking for any excuse to cry 'cheater!'. With rows of high-tech snooping systems, even the slightest run of luck gets you dragged into the backroom. And if you think as a regular Joe they won't make an example of you, you're as naive as the losers dutifully feeding every penny to the slots.

With so much money at stake, you think casinos care if they're mistakenly seizing an honest guy's chips or kicking out minorities who had the nerve to actually win? They know the odds are most people will sheepishly accept the verdict and slink away rather than mount a legal battle. And that one successful claim won't dent profits from armies of other mug punters.

So trust me, if you score a sweet jackpot, grab your winnings and run before the eye in the sky dreams up an excuse to label you a card counter or scam artist. Because 'house always wins' and if they can't win your money fairly, they'll sure as hell try bending the rules to take it by force.

For sure, I am of the opinion that certain gamblers can be the unfortunate recipient of wrong accusations, and this is extremely disheartening. This situation has never happened to me before, though.
