It is within the law that a jackpot for lottery winner must pay tax to the government out of the money. but what really bothers me is how they got to know in the first instance.

One of the questions I want to ask you guys is that Do casinos report winnings to IRS? I'll be glad if you can let me know in the comment section below thanks in advance.

I have really not seem a casino platform report wining and others , although if such really happens I think the person that have won would be taxed heavily afterwards ,that what would be the aftermath

Yes, casinos are required to report winnings to the IRS.

If a player wins more than $1,200 on a slot machine or $1,500 on bingo or keno, the casino will issue the player a W-2G form, which reports the winnings to the IRS.

Players are also required to report their winnings on their personal income tax return.
