I think there are some things gamblers should be considering which is actually not gambing excessively , gambling itself comes with great amount of risk and I think it's actually good the gambler don't gamble excessively because doing so would only lead to more losses in the side of the gambler

Well there was a time in my life where I bet compulsively and a lot, I lost a lot of money, nowadays I only bet on special occasions and especially in sports betting or poker, for example in sports betting on important UCL matches, international matches and NBA for example, I have reduced it a lot and I am happy about it.

I gamble occasionally. I may go years without gambling. Though I don't see gambling as being bad. I just don't really fancy it because I know I am not that lucky with gambling. That's why I refrain from it.
