I don't know about 1st tier countries, but in third world countries, we are all depriving government incomes deductible from our winnings. Apart from the gambling shops that pay rates to government, no gambling winners deem it necessary to pay certain percentage of his winning as rates to the government. I don't know if this is applicable likewise in abroad. But take the case of the slot winner for instance, the winning prize is chargeable on taxes before the winner is given the remaining balance. Why same criteria is not extended to other gambling context?.

The issue of whether or not to pay taxes on gambling winnings varies from country to country and often depends on the specific laws and regulations in each jurisdiction. In some countries, gambling winnings are considered taxable income, while in others they may not be subject to taxation.

In many first-tier countries, such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, gambling winnings are generally subject to taxation. This includes not only winnings from traditional casinos but also from online gambling and other forms of gambling such as sports betting or poker. The tax rates and requirements can vary depending on the country and even within different states or provinces.

In third-world countries or developing nations, the approach to taxing gambling winnings can be different. Some of these countries may not have well-established regulations or enforcement mechanisms in place to collect taxes on gambling winnings. As a result, it is possible that individuals in these countries may not be required or even aware of their obligation to report and pay taxes on their gambling winnings.

It is worth mentioning that not paying taxes on gambling winnings when required can have legal consequences in countries where it is mandatory. Non-compliance with tax laws can result in penalties or even criminal charges, so it's always important to be aware of and follow the tax regulations in your country.

Regarding your question about the criteria for taxing slot winnings compared to other forms of gambling, the specific rules can vary depending on the jurisdiction. In some places, such as the United States, there are specific rules for reporting and taxing certain types of gambling winnings, including slot machine winnings. These rules are often designed to ensure that the government collects its share of the revenue generated from gambling activities. The rationale may be that slot machines are a highly regulated form of gambling, and it is easier for casinos to deduct taxes from payouts rather than relying on individual gamblers to report and pay their own taxes.

It is always recommended to consult with a tax professional or seek advice from your local government authorities to gain a better understanding of the tax obligations for gambling winnings in your specific country or region.
